- Actually, I just bought it the other day for the same type of
- topology. I find that it works very well with ARCNET on a NW3.12
- server. The printing is transparent and very easy to setup.
- Probably the most difficult aspect of running an Amiga on a NW
- server is the fact that both systems use a SYS: volume by default.
- I am still setting up the server to use as the default SYS when
- logging in.
-
- On the down side, Oxxi gives you a whole slew of Amiga versions of
- the various NW utilities(map, pconsole, printcon, syscon, etc).
- I've found that the manual claims they work excatly as the NW
- versions do, but that is not 100% true(probably more like 90%).
- As long as you have a PC on the network, this is not entirely a
- problem though. An example is I set up a default printcon job for
- my amiga, using the NW version of printcon. When I logged in with
- my amiga and ran the amiga version of printcon, it told me my job
- was corrupted in the database and I had to build a new job with
- the amiga before it would recognize it. Not something
- devastating, but just a little flawed, in my opinion.
